David and Lynn Lambrick give you a warm welcome to The Five Pilchards Inn which can offer high quality home made food, a great pub atmosphere as well as Bed and Breakfast Accommodation.

The Five Pilchards Freehouse is located close to the beach in the small Cornish village of Porthallow. Cornwall is in the far south west of Britain and as such enjoys much fairer weather than the reputedly dismal English winters.
The name "Five Pilchards" is derived from the traditional way of counting pilchards in groups of five. The pub is believed to be over 300 years old but documentation confirming its age is extremely hard to come by. Although that old, the building as it stands now, is an extension with the original forge and stable still found on the premises. The history of the Five Pilchards can be traced back to at least the 1830s and is steeped in history, which is more than abundant upon entering the premises which features a wonderful display of nautical artifacts.
Dogs and Children welcome if accompanied by a responsible adult.
