Service at the pub
Lovley Pub, shame about the service. Just turned up on spec hoping to get some food and was told we would have to wait which was fine. We left after an hour after being told that people with bookings
are the priority. That would have been fine but people coming in after us were having their orders taken. Would have just been good service to take our orders.
Feedback
Dear Simon,
I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the service you received on your recent visit to The Five Pilchards.
Customers who have made reservations are given priority and all food is cooked to order which can unfortunately cause a slight delay during busy periods. I am sorry this resulted in you leaving
before placing an order as I am sure you would not be disappointed with the food. I hope you will not be put of by this and may wish to reserve a table in the future.
Kind Regards Sarah
A wonderful week at the inn
Dear Lynn, dear David,
we are save back home in Germany and want to thank you for the wonderful week we spent at your inn.
Everything was just fantastic: your hospitality, the stuff, the accomodation, the food (breakfast and dinner) .... just everything.
Many regards

had 3 top nights at the inn.recently refurbished bedrooms were way above the standard we expected.pub patrons downstairs were audible but not unpleasant as theres no jukebox or tv down there to ruin
the hum of conversation.anyone asks me i'd say highly recommended
Thank you! We really enjoyed our stay!
I stayed at The Five Pilchards with my boyfriend in April and we thought it was a lovely place to stay with lots of character. We had dinner in the pub downstairs which was crammed with interesting
artefacts such as old ships figure heads. There was a good choice of food and beer and our meal was delicious and very good value. Overall, The Five Pilchards is a great place both to eat and to stay
and I would recommend it most highly. If we are in the area again, we will definitely be coming back!
Evening meal
We very much enjoyed our meal with our 2 dogs! All 4 of us were made very welcome in a relaxed and comfortable pub. Food was excellent and good value!
Accomodation and food
We enjoyed our stay during our walk on the SW Coast Path. We arrived on a very chilly evening and were made very welcome in a lovely, large yet cozy room. It was a treat to be able to pop downstairs
to the pub for fish and chips and a pint. The pub is the only place in the village to eat. Although we were sleeping above the pub on a Saturday night, our sleep was very sound. The breakfast next
morning was substantial and set us up for the long walk ahead. I would definitely recommend it to walkers.
Evening meal
This was our 3rd year in Porthallow and we always eat in the pub, the food is lovely and great value, the waitress was really lovely and helpful, it is so friendly our 5 year old daughter and our dog

See you again next year
